The main product bought by Mexico from Italy in 2021 was Parts and Accessories of Motor Vehicles (US$476M). The main destinations of purchases made to Italy were Ciudad de México (US$2.12B), Nuevo León (US$747M), and Estado de México (US$579M).

In the period January to March 2022, the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Italy to Mexico is US$109M. In the same period, the states that received the highest FDI from Italy were Jalisco (US$61.7M), Coahuila de Zaragoza (US$40.4M), and Guanajuato (US$33.2M).

Regarding remittances, in the first quarter of 2022, Mexico received US$5.48M in remittances from Italy, while Italy received US$708k in remittances from Mexico.

Finally, in terms of immigration to Mexico, 2,301 inmigrants from Italy were registered in 2020, 44.3% women and 55.7% men. The states with the highest concentration of inmigrants from Italy were Ciudad de México (934 people), Puebla (272 people), and Nuevo León (245 people).
